Privacy Policy

Effective May 2026 — EvoTechnica Inc. dba Defendabot

Defendabot (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by EvoTechnica Inc., a British Columbia corporation. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you use Defendabot (“the Service”).

1. Information We Collect

During the early access / waitlist phase, we collect only the information you voluntarily submit (name, email, jurisdiction) via our waitlist form, which is hosted by Tally.so. When the application launches, we will collect account information, case data you create, and documents you upload. We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and debugging.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the Service. We do not sell your data to third parties, data brokers, or advertisers — ever. Case documents and data are never used to train AI models. We may contact you about updates to the Service or your account with your consent.

3. Data Storage and Security

Application data for Canadian clients is stored in Canada. All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). We implement access controls, logging, and regular security reviews to protect your information. We will notify you promptly in the event of a data breach affecting your personal information.

4. Applicable Privacy Laws

We comply with BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) for BC residents, PIPEDA for other Canadian residents, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents. We also comply with applicable US state privacy laws (WA MYPDA, OCPA, CPA, etc.) for US residents. You have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal information at any time.

5. Third-Party Services

Waitlist forms are powered by Tally.so — see their privacy policy at tally.so/privacy. Authentication is handled by our own identity provider. AI features use Anthropic's Claude API; your case data is processed under a data processing agreement and is not used for model training.

6. Cookies

We use a single functional cookie ("region") to remember your geographic region for 6 hours, so we can show you jurisdiction-appropriate content. This cookie contains no personally identifiable information. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Contact Us

For privacy inquiries, data access requests, or to exercise your rights under applicable law, contact us at [email protected] or by mail at EvoTechnica Inc., British Columbia, Canada.
